What are Chamber Dollars?
Chamber Dollars are Checks that have a set value, and are accepted at any participating Healdsburg Chamber Business. The Chamber Dollars program is designed to keep dollars in Healdsburg and to direct them to Chamber Member Businesses. Cash can be spent anywhere, but Healdsburg Chamber Dollars are only accepted in Healdsburg. Shop Local!
How do I purchase Chamber Dollars for my family and friends?
Call the Healdsburg Chamber of Commerce and place your order, or stop by our office and fill out our order form. We usually need 48 hours to process your order and print your Chamber Dollars, so pre-ordering is required. Chamber Dollars are available in $10.00, $25.00, and $50.00 increments.
This sounds like a travelers check. Is it?
Sort of. The checks will have the dollar amount already filled in, and they are already signed by the Chamber's CEO. All the purchaser has to do is fill out the name of the business that they are purchasing from and then complete the transaction.
I'm a Chamber Member and business owner. Is this going to cost me anything if I want to accept Chamber Dollars?
Nope. If your business accepts checks from your customers, then you're all set. Just include them with your daily deposits and the bank will credit your account in the amount of the Chamber Dollars.
Who benefits from the Chamber Dollars Program?
Local employers (easy to purchase, employee satisfaction), the recipient of the Chamber Dollars (great, local shops to choose from), the City (sales tax revenue) and most of all Healdsburg Chamber Member Businesses (because YOU get the business). Not to mention that we're keeping more dollars in Healdsburg.
How does the program pay for itself?
There is a $ .40 fee per check that the purchaser pays for. This covers the cost of printing, banking and accounting charges. This is paid at the time of ordering and does not affect the value of the Chamber Dollars.
